Its been 2 weeks now that we haven’t seen the wolves we talked to some workers from Ridley log sort, who said they haven’t seen the wolves either. But have heard that wolves have been seen near Brads at Port Ed.
We went out tonight and didn’t see any tracks or scat, checked summer Den, Ridley Access road and the dump.
We have decided to go out Saturday to Port Ed and check around, but we wont be going out around Ridley for awhile maybe 2 times a month or unless we hear more reports or more sighting.
I was hoping that the wolves would be around winter time it would be cool to get pictures with the snow in the background.
This website might not be update as much because we will not be going out to often, Our baby is going to be coming in the next few weeks.
Until next time Take care
Thanks

Again we went out Sunday evening, we went were last saw them at there summer den, No fresh scat or tracks; this is the longest time that we have not seen them. Its like they disappeared. with the fresh rain we are hoping to see if they come back wend. if not were going out to ridley access road, have a hunch there out there there is 3 swamps back in that area, and last fall we were able to hear them howling.

Yesterday Stacey and myself went out to check on the wolves we went up to the summer den, low and behold they were not there, as a matter of fact they look like they have been gone for about a week now, no fresh scat or tracks. Since they were not around we did search more of the area, found a few trails and sleeping spots. When we finished there we hiked back and went to the dump, City is making a new road through one of the trails the wolves use to get to the swamp behind the dump. Again there has been no signs that they have been around for awhile.
This leads us to think they are on the move hunting or because of the dump trucks and other machines they are out closer to Ridley access road. Stacey and I haven’t been out there in a few weeks getting harder for her to walk that distance. I’m hoping in the fall when the leaves and brush die out we will be able to see more of the trails they use, Also we should see a pattern when the wolves go and come back to the Den.
Tracking wolves is a bit harder to do when the weather is so dry we have been waiting for some rain, I hate the rain but I hope we get some soon, we are going out Sunday to see what we can see. Update then.

Tonight we went out to see the wolves, we were in for a big surprise, we got to see the whole pack, all 8 wolves laying down. We came over the hill and they were all laying down we were not expecting them and they were not expecting us, they all bolted in to the tree line. we waited 20 min got some film of the howling, then 20 feet in some brush a pup ran to the tree line I was able to snap a few pictures of him.

Here is a brief description of the wolves we have come across so far there is the Alpha male, old grey.

The alpha female red neck for her patch of red fur on the back of her neck.

Next is Poser, this wolf posed for us for 45 min, dark red coat.

And then there is Blondie for its light color coat.
